SLOWING DOWN AGAIN

Hello there long lost friends!

The last few weeks we’ve been sharing the love and passing around the flu with each other again. Isn’t that nice!? And on top of it Calvin has had pneumonia. So it’s been extra fun for him. We’ve all been dancing around with fevers - some days better than others. We just slowed down again and got as much rest as we could. This year has been a review of the lessons we’ve learned over the previous couple of years connected to health and caring for our bodies - with little ones right now.

However, I’m just so thankful to be heading in the right direction! We should be clear of the flu now and are just praying for the fluid in Calvin’s lungs to clear up. YAY!

We are especially excited that we are on this track of gaining health because… we’ve been planning a little birthday party for Emet and some of his close friends this weekend. The sweet boy has been doing a countdown chain for about a month. All the while my heart was just pleading for him to sleeeeeep a lot and eeeeeaaaat alllll the things I ask him to. All the pressure.

Phew! I think we made it. It’s especially hard to be sick at this time of year with the birthdays in our family, an anniversary, and holidays. Thankful for these slow and sweet days together again - and for health now!

On one of our sick days we finally watched Frozen 2 (everyone kept telling us was so good). It was really cute and I appreciated the lyrics of this song during this season:

“Just do the next right thing
Take a step, step again
It is all that I can to do
The next right thing”

When Calvin was home with us on one of our sick days, he captured the sweetest and real moments we share together that I had no idea he was taking.
