A CHARMING VISIT TO PALM SPRINGS - CA

Every once in a while, you get to visit a place where it feels like you're transported to a completely different time and space. Palm Springs, CA is that place for me. I've always seen beautiful pictures from Palm Springs and heard about people loving to vacation there and when I finally got to go, I couldn't get enough. Calvin's job has required him to travel at various levels of frequencey. This has slowed down significantly with his current job, but we always look for opportunities for Emet and me to come along with him when it's possible. One of the places we've visited more often is California and I was able to visit Palm Springs twice in a 6 month span. As you can imagine, I was super pumped. :) I wanted to share some highlights from both of our visits with you in this blog.

We visited in September 2017 and March 2018. It may of had something to do with the time of year we were visiting but we were surprised by the slower pace of everything. It felt like a dream. One I didn't want to wake up from.

I was around palm trees growing up on the East Coast in Florida, but it was a completely different setting. Palm Springs has a unique blend palm trees, desert, and mountains. It's one of my most favorite things about it.

Driving into Palm Springs is a really fun and unique experience. It's like an oasis in the middle of the desert. You feel the power of these massive mountains surrounding you and are captivated by the beauty of the California desert.

I love the mid-century modern architecture up against the desert. I can't get enough. The palm trees were so tall and gorgeous. And, of course we had to stop in at some of the landmark homes in Palm Springs.

One of the highlights of visiting was stopping at Moorten's Botanical Garden. I don't think I've ever seen such a blend of beautiful cacti all in one place. I was in my element and loving every minute of it.

We stopped at the King's Highway for lunch, which is connected to the Ace Hotel. I made my way around to get a look. We're definitely booking a room here next time we go through.
