AN INTIMATE BABY SHOWER

There are many different types of showers. My favorite are the showers and events that are small enough to allow for sweet conversation and where you’re able to get to know your guests. Where an atmosphere for cultivating relationships is present.

I was given the opportunity to put together a shower for my dear friend a few months ago. It was a sweet time together anticipating the arrival of her daughter. I wanted the theme of the event to not only match the right atmosphere, I also wanted it to match the theme and style of her nursery.

This post is a summary of some of the key elements of the shower. If you are looking for some more detailed help for putting together a shower be sure to check out the blog I did for a wedding shower here.

I wanted to keep the design of the shower as clean and simple as possible.

We put together an assortment of meats, cheeses, fruits, and vegetables for the food at this shower. My favorite.

I kept everything branded and consistent - from the invitations to the food labels - everything used the same elements and font.

It’s always fun to have an assortment of “fun drinks.” Light and clean flavored drinks paired well with the fresh selection of food.

I strung together some flowers from Trader Joe’s and made a few strands of flowers to hang from the window.

I also used the design elements to put together a decorative E for guests to sign and keep framed in the little one’s room.

Knowing the person you are hosting the shower for makes selecting activities so much easier. Instead of filling the time with unwanted silly games, we chose to share our time artistically by decorating gingerbread foxes. This was super fun and lighthearted and allowed us to have time of bonding over conversation.

The key to throwing a great shower is knowing what your guest of honor enjoys and giving them a special memory to look back on for years to come.

What are some of your favorite things to do when hosting a shower?
